Akoonu for Pipeline Reviews is configured through Custom Metadata Types. While these records can be manually edited in the standard Salesforce Setup UI, it is recommended that you use the Akoonu Setup tab to update configurations.
The Akoonu for Pipeline Reviews app is packaged with a full and complete set of configuration metadata records. These records are designated with the "aknu" Namespace. Because they are part of a managed package, You can not delete these records and can not add them to Change Sets.
If you would like to use all non-Namespace metadata records so that you can use Change Sets for the entire configuration, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for detailed instructions on setting this up.
Configuring the App
The Akoonu Setup tab allows you to configure all aspects of Akoonu for Pipeline Reviews. You make changes locally in the admin UI, and then "Deploy" the config when ready. As you configure the app, the initial Custom Metadata Records will be updated, and new ones may be added. When using the Akoonu Setup Tab, all of this happens under the hood. The only thing you can not do through the admin UI is to deleted unused metadata records.
Each time you Deploy the configuration through the admin UI, a backup record is created so that you can view a history of the changes and restore previous configuration versions.
Because the configuration information is stored in metadata records, it is included when Sandboxes are created or refreshed.
Migrating between Orgs
The easiest way to migrate an Akoonu configuration between Salesforce orgs is to use the Download Config and Upload Config features in the Akoonu Setup Tab. Simply copy (or download) the configuration from the source org, and then paste it into the Upload Config feature of the target Org. This avoids the need for manually replicating the configuration.
